A selection of clips showing rebuilt West Countries 34016 "Bodmin" and 34027 "Taw Valley" (running as 34045 "Ottery St. Mary) at the Mid Hants Railway gala on Sunday 19th September 2004. Apologies for the low quality...this is due to it being 1. my first attempt at making a video clip, and 2. the camera's maximum resolution of 320x240 for video! Cheers to Ali for glueing the bits together.
The turbocharger and Marston fan of Valenta 43002 "Techniquest" battle it out to see which can be the loudest. The verdict? Who knows, I've gone deaf! This was the 13.50 Reading to London Paddington on Saturday 3rd November 2007.

43189 "Railway Heritage Trust" on the LA79 Midland Mainline set restarts from a dead stand at the former Hele & Bradninch station on Friday 14th September 2007. Failure of the level crossing equipment had led to all trains being stopped/cautioned and then hand-signalled through by NR staff with flags.
The sound of the Paxman Valenta screams out once more over the south-west with the first of Arriva Cross Country's HST services, the 9V49 08.05 Edinburgh - Plymouth, seen here departing Taunton with 43007 leading 43184 on ex-MML stock.
6024 "King Edward I" brings the down Torbay Express through Newton Abbot station on Sunday 29th July 2007. Note Shirley waving like a lunatic from the 5th coach. :)
Valenta screamer 43005, currently second on the Brush hit-list, launches out of Taunton on the rear of the 21.06 to London Paddington, 13th August 2007.
Delivered to Brush, Loughborough on 24th August for replacement MTU engine. Ran with Valenta right up until her last day in service (23rd). Remember her this way.
RIP.

Also see my video of their departure from Taunton.
