Possibly the funniest scene, pound for pound, inch for inch, frame for frame, in a comedy of this period. Pure brilliance. Hats off to Dr. Emil Schuffhausen...the Third. (Low vid quality is inversely proportional to great comic quality. Rent the DVD for full enjoyment.)
A comedy monument. As Martin Mull would say, "We put the U before the BS," although technically UBS didn't happen until it became "America 2Nite." Also writing for the show were Ben Stein, Harry Shearer, Al Burton. And of course there are the musical stylings of Happy Kyne and the Mirthmakers. ("J. Carter" never shows despite what the head titles say.)
Unusual vid for this Yoakam/Roger Miller song writing collaboration. The video gets the essence of the song...and then some. They use unique metaphor of (drug) rehab for getting over a woman.
Warning: Many long hairs in this band. Also, the director must have been in love with the fiddle player becuz half the song is shot from his position. It's a great shot, but enuf already. Pete Anderson "brings it home" at the end. A pleasure.
Regular people who are not actors act out comedy sketches in the street that they invent themselves as it goes along. Total improv. Total comedy. Total delight.
