This video was produced to promote The Searchers album of 1988 "Hungry Hearts" on the Coconut Records label. At this time, the Searchers consisted of John McNally, Frank Allen, Billy Adamson and Spencer James who had replaced Mike Pender four years previous.
A nice multi-camera shot live rendition of their classic hit. During this period, the group consisted of originals John McNally and Mike Pender with almost original Frank Allen and drummer Billy Adamson (who had been with the group since 1970).
A very overlooked Hollies classic from the album "Hollies". Written by Allan Clarke, the song was released as a single on Oct. 1, 1973 and charted at #24.
The video appears to be from German television and is a very strange edit including footage from another appearance in which the band performed "Hey Willy". I've learned that this editing was done to edit out the credits of the original program.
Very strange.
This was a fallow time for The Searcher having left Pye and signing on with Liberty. They released several singles with little success. They would soon depart Liberty and sign on with RCA.
Terry Sylvester (Hollies), Jimmy Griffin (Bread) and John Ford Coley appear on TNN's Prime Time Country as "Soft Rock Cafe".
Recorded: September 15th, 2000 at Nashville's "Wild Horse Saloon".
Michael Rickfors had taken over the lead vocal role with the Hollies while Allan Clark was off pursuing his solo career.
This song hit #60 in the USA not charting in the UK at all.
It deserved to do better.
The title pretty much says it all. While this show was produced nearly 30 years ago, very little has changed in the arena of the understanding of UFO's. This program remains valid today!
At the request of the producer, names of the crew and the television station have been obscured and distorted.
